There are many options for outreach here at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. Join us as we serve the community!
Social Ministry sponsors programs and activities involving members of the congregation to serve the wider community.
Please see the calendar for a list of meeting times and opportunities to serve.
The purpose of Saturday’s Bread (Mission Meal) is to put the Gospel into action and to unite the church in providing nourishment, both physically and spiritually, to the community. While Saturday’s bread is a ministry out of St. Mark Lutheran Church, you are invited to participate. Come join us for lunch every third Saturday of the month at noon. Location: St. Mark Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall.
The Good Shepherd Food Pantry is open the third and fourth Saturday of each month from 10 a.m. to noon. A client, who lives in the area, may visit once a month and fill a standard grocery bag. We have one pound of ground beef available as well as one quart of chowder made by St. Mark. The Pantry is kept supplied by the people of Good Shepherd, as well as groups that run food drives for us. Volunteer time and contributions are always welcome.
The Chowder Ministry’s mission is to support outreach programs that provide services to the needy in our community and beyond. The Chowder Ministry also encourages and supports outreach to the homebound in our community. This ministry is originally from Grace Lutheran Church, who brought it to St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, and in which members of Good Shepherd are invited to participate.
